Flavor Announcement from NEMPAC Opera Project and Boston Festival Orchestra

This year, for our 11th Season, NEMPAC Opera Project is thrilled to present Stephen Sondheim's "Into the Wood" in collaboration with the Boston Festival Orchestra, as they kicking off their 2nd Season!

"This is a commencement of many kinds for us – the first musical we have produced, the first collaboration with the basis-breaking Boston Festival Orchestra, and our first performance at the Boston Heart for the Arts. We cannot think of a more fitting manner for our organization to return to live audience, fully-staged performances than with a show that asks for artists from all backgrounds in the performing arts: theatre, trip the light fantastic, instrumentalists, and both musical theatre and opera singers. It's a argument of persevering through the unknown with a united goal of a better tomorrow and the eternal quest of "Happ(ier) Ever After".

To exist able to dedicate this planned season to Mr. Sondheim is a approval to his memory and to the souvenir of his catechism. The performances will be held at the Plaza Theatres at the Boston Heart for the Arts on June 16th and June 18th, 2022 at 7:30 pm.

Call For Auditions

Auditions are to be held either IN-PERSON or past VIDEO audition submission.

For IN-PERSON Audience Submissions, including Youth:
Please submit your headshot and resume by February 17th to auditions@nempacboston.org

Please prepare 1 Sondheim song. Songs from "Into the Woods" are acceptable.

Youths (Ages ix-17) auditioning for Little Cherry Ridinghood should ready "I Know Things Now". For other Youth roles, please prepare one Musical Theatre song by whatever composer.

Auditions will exist heard in person on February 27th from 1-v pm at NEMPAC, fifty Tileston Street, Boston, MA. Audience times will be assigned as materials are received.

For VIDEO Audition Submissions:
Delight slate and perform 1 Sondheim Vocal (no cuts) with accompanied track or with a pianist. A Capella submissions volition not exist accepted. Delight submit video, your headshot, and resume pastFeb 24th to auditions@nempacboston.org.

Nosotros are excited to announce our new partnership for next year'southward production with the Boston Festival Orchestra, which will exist conducted by BFO's Artistic and Music Manager Alyssa Wang.

NEMPAC Opera Project is proud to celebrate its 10th Season with Juneteenth: Opera in the Primal of Freedom on June xix, 2021.

Featuring the works of William Grant Yet, Scott Joplin, the Chevalier de Saint-Georges, and a Earth Premiere Deputed Piece for North Cease Music & Performing Arts Center by Mason Bynes.

This virtual streaming presentation will celebrate the holiday of Juneteenth, when the Emancipation Proclamation was read in 1865 in Texas to the final groups of enslaved people marking the end to slavery in the United States. Through a variety of music from Black Composers across three centuries, nosotros will celebrate Juneteenth with the themes of freedom, triumph, and joy. These works will be performed by leading Black Musicians of the Greater Boston Arts scene and filmed at the African Meeting House on Boston's Black Heritage Trail.
